Fiendishly Fun and Suspenseful

Fiendishly fun fiction from Jeff Strand. This is the first of the Andrew Mayhem series and I will definitely be looking into the next four books.
Mayhem is an out of work husband, parent, and generally nice but directionless guy. After a failed attempt at being a private investigator, he is dragged into a plot in which the titular grave robbing is far from the worst thing that happens.
The plot -- which involves multiple corpses, a mysterious individual who calls himself The Apparition, a serial killer, and snuff films -- is over the top ridiculous, but Strand pulls it off. Mayhem is put through a series of events, which while unlikely, make sense in the context of the story. He manages to build suspense while keeping the reader laughing. This is a fun little story.
Recommended.
