Happy New Year

Happy New Year and all that rot.
Well folks, we made it.
Personally, 2016 was a pretty good year, with the exception of all of the celebrity deaths, and all of that political stuff, and...
Well, let’s not get into all of that right now. What I wanted to focus on here was the new year.1 We’ve got a lot of exciting things coming up for Dragon’s Roost Press including a number of new releases. I will personally be making a number of appearances at conventions.2 I’ve also started a tracking system which will hopefully keep me on track regarding the number of writing/editing/publishing goals I have set for myself.
One thing that I did notice about last year was that I was woefully short on posting on this blog. Part of that is time management. Part of that is plain laziness. Another part is that I lacked things to say. I have been getting my little mini-rants out on Facebook lately. Beyond that, I was so swamped that by the time I finished a project I just plain out and out didn’t have time to sit down and write about it.
I’ve come up with a way to fix that. I have decided to start doing short reviews. No not just reposting movie and comic reviews I do for other sites, but reviews specifically for this website. I know a lot of people that review subscription boxes and the posts are usually pretty informative and often funny.
I’m not a big one for doing the whole “unboxing” thing personally3, so I’ve decided to start reviewing something that I already have plenty of -- Cthulhu merchandise.
Consider this the announcement of a new feature on this website, The Cthulhu Review. I am giving myself the not-so-lofty goal of 2 reviews a month, that shouldn’t be that hard, right?4 I already have a number of items which I plan to review, but I could use your help. If you have something Lovecraftian, be it a book, movie, game, toy, or other merch, send me a note and I will do my best to give it a look.
There, public announcement made. Now if you want to see what one of these reviews looks like, just click here.

- What, you thought this was going to be one of those Best Of/Worst Of retrospective pieces? Ha. Like I can remember all that way back to January of last year.
- Check out my ConFusion schedule here.
- And I don’t want to pay to buy new stuff because I’m a cheap ass.
- What’s that in the air? Is that the smell of disaster?
